GVO recognizes the power of data and evidence-based advocacy in driving policy change. The organization conducts in-depth research on gender-related issues, including the development of a gender barometer that tracks progress and challenges in achieving gender equality in South Sudan. Through the Gender Barometer, GVO and its partners monitor essential indicators which measure women’s rights and economic empowerment alongside their political involvement and educational opportunities and violence protection. GVO uses its research findings to provide essential information to policymakers along with civil society and international stakeholders which enables them to create focused and efficient advocacy programs. The organization uses research findings to drive policy modifications which establish programs that address the fundamental needs and rights of women and girls to build a fairer and more just society.
We put survivors especially women and girls at the heart of our work. Every program begins with listening to their experiences, needs, and aspirations, ensuring solutions are tailored and respectful.
We work hand-in-hand with communities, traditional leaders, women-led groups, and national partners to co-create safe spaces, strengthen local systems, and drive sustainable change.
Through research, data, and lived experiences, we amplify survivors’ voices to influence policies, shape programs, and hold institutions accountable at local, national, and global levels.
