On 6 March 2026, Global Voices Organization (GVO) joined the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare, international organizations, civil society organizations, and other partners at Nyakuron Cultural Center in Juba to commemorate International Women’s Day.

International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on 8th March, is a moment to recognize the social, economic, and political achievements of women and girls while renewing our commitment to gender equality and justice.
This year’s international theme, “Give to Gain,” highlights the power of generosity, collaboration, and collective action to advance gender equality and empower women and girls.

In South Sudan, the celebration was guided by the national theme: “With Justice, Rights and Action, Women and Girls Thrive and Rise.” The theme calls for stronger action to protect the rights of women and girls, close legal gaps, and challenge harmful practices such as child marriage and other forms of discrimination.

Global Voices Organization remains committed to working with partners to promote women’s rights, leadership, and equal opportunities for women and girls across communities.
