Advocacy

South Sudanese women and girls are faced with several challenges to fully exercise their rights including access to justice limitations. The complex environment and deep-rooted cultural norms remain a key obstacle, 35% affirmative action enforcement is still in process and this limits women’s opportunities in education, economic participation, and political decision-making.

GVO seeks to engage women and girls to advocate for their rights through networking, movement building and advocacy on; gender-based violence, education, sexual and reproductive health, economic growth and women’s participation in peacebuilding, and political processes. GVO advocacy efforts also entail providing support services for survivors, awareness raising, and advocating for legal reforms to protect women and girls. At a policy level, GVO engagements are purposed to ensure that gender considerations are integrated into all aspects of policy-making, planning, and implementation.

our working process

Building Strong Communities Together

Survivor-Centered Approach

We put survivors especially women and girls at the heart of our work. Every program begins with listening to their experiences, needs, and aspirations, ensuring solutions are tailored and respectful.

01

Community Engagement

We work hand-in-hand with communities, traditional leaders, women-led groups, and national partners to co-create safe spaces, strengthen local systems, and drive sustainable change.

02

Evidence-Based Advocacy & Action

Through research, data, and lived experiences, we amplify survivors’ voices to influence policies, shape programs, and hold institutions accountable at local, national, and global levels.
